I like to squirrel hunt. I hunt around my house I use my 410. The shells r little high. I paid 8.00 for federal 3in 6's. Because I can get up close to the bigger tree's All kinds of acorns, hickory nuts. But if u want a honey hole find pecan tress's . Every squirrel around will come too them. I have killed my limit in one tree. I also use a 20ga when I goto the national forest hunting. I have sylamore national forest about 10 miles from me. And I am 50 miles from buffalo national forest. I like to carry squirrel calls with me. I had very good luck with the haydel's mr squirrel call and bs 85 hand call. I just bought the primos squirrel buster. It sounds like it is going to be a very good call. The mr squirrel call. U use a green limb hit the ground and use the call same time. The sound of a young one and a bird of prey hitting its wings catching it. I had squirrels run up to me. Not all the time . That's why I like the 410. It's fun to shoot dont kick. Mossberg and Remington has 410 Turkey guns. Sure would make great squirrel guns. I like the screw in chokes. I also like the 20ga on squirrels. I have a mossberg 500ga 20ga given too me. It had fixed choke. I got a deal on 26 inch screw in chokes. Plus u will call in predators with the mr squirrel call. Try them the work but not of the time.

lol.. we would take a 3 inch bolt and rake the edge of an empty tin can. (small coffee can was best) Every curious squirrel in the woods would come searching for the source.

That's awesome. Nothing beats squirrel hunting! I've always used the old school quarter call. Take two quarters, and run the "lip" side of the quarter against the grooves on the other quarter. It produces the sound squirrels make when they are "cutting", or chewing on a nut. It works like clockwork for me.

I have a plunger type call but I’m not sure who makes it. I will tap my index and middle finger back and forth real fast and then a few slower taps with both fingers together. It sounds and works pretty well. Been too long since I’ve been squirrel hunting that’s for sure.
