Does using a red or green lense cover on a flashlight really help be less noticed by deer, when walking to your stand? Obviously not pointing it all around, trying to look all around....just low and on the path infront of you?

Under my feeders I run Green lights for hog hunting and it does not bother them or the deer at all. So, with the comment above, I guess you can run whichever light you think works the best for you.

I would not think so, I believe that how bright the light is has more to do with them being spooked than the color of the light. I prefer a red light over a green light while spotlighting or calling though. For my eyes it’s much easier for me to see with red than it is with green.

I use green light for walk in/out of hunting areas. I use lighting more for My safety of being seen and not mistaken for an animal for main purpose.

I use as bright as I can get...years ago used to go to the blind without any light...one morning walking along a cat screamed at me...I thought that was not possible so I continued walking ..sure enough the cat screamed again...I don't do that any more.

I use are regular LED flashlight or small head lamp...but I drive in with the Ranger to put my gear in the blind and then road feed the areas where I want the deer to be at. I then drive and park about 20 yards away from the blind in a small opening in some really thick brush. So any deer have either moved away from the area or moving to or back to the sound of the road feeder and I am in the blind before they get there.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I use green just because its harder to see but enough to get to the stand.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
