One of the greatest cafeterias was my first year in college. There was ice cream at the end of the line.

That's harsh. What about Piccadilly Cafeteria or Wyatts?

The Highland Park Cafeteria was pretty good, had a lady playing classics on an organ

Wyatts, that’s blast from the past!

Like Luby's and Piccadilly. Wyatts and Furrs not so much. Luby's for the win. Baked fish or liver and onions. The tartar sauce is some of the best I have ever had.

Grew up next to Richardson Square Mall and we ate at Piccadilly often. We would always go to the Luby’s at Collin Creek Mall after church. Chicken Fried Steak, mac&cheese, and green beans on the louanne plate for me. That chocolate icebox pie was pretty good as well!

We would do Highland Park Cafeteria sometimes when the Grandparents were in town, but I liked Luby’s best.

Highland Park Cafeteria and Luby's were the best then Piccadilly. Bryce's in Texarkana was good when I ate there 30 years ago. We had a cafeteria called Lavenders in Fort Worth when I was growing up. My grandparents liked it.

The food I’ve had at hospitals has improved to the point, lately, that I’ve questioned its origins. It wasn’t just good for hospital food. It was just good food.

Best buffet of all time . . . . Bowens in Texarkana. A tornado took it away

We used to stop at one of those in Arkadelphia (just East of Texarkana) once a year when we would go through. Mom and Dad loved it!

Maybe it was Arkadelphia. There was a Comfort Inn and a McDonalds across the Hiway from it. All I remember as a kid. MickyD’s for breakfast and lunch(back when they fried the pies too) and Bowen’s at dinner for all the fried shrimp we could stomach.

Yep thats the place... McDonalds was across the street. My sister wanted to eat there instead and my parents looked at her like she had lost her mind. Bowen’s had free ice cream for desert.

A friend of mine "voluntarily" left employment there 18 years ago. He had said they would never make it without him.
