2&3/10ths inches at the ranch south of Menard, and 52 degrees. Flash Flood Watch through tomorrow afternoon. Hummingbirds are still hitting the feeders and they're all "blowed up". Perfect Scotch and cigar weather.
Just go rut the roads up like it was a lease place.....that way you can put that green tractor to work.
You already knew this, but when it's dry, smallish cedars just pop outa the ground when you work the bucket right! I shoulda done a lot more when I was practicing, getting the feel for the new "Mean Green Machine" (Go North Texas) .
...and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Gen. 1:28
Up until yesterday we have had right at 3" over a 4 day period. Today we have had about 1" and its still raining. Looks like the cool front just arrived north of San Antonio. Temp. has dropped 5 degrees in the past 20 minutes.
A clear conscience is often the sign of a fuzzy memory.
5" in Baird, thats approximately 8" since the 1st, wheat fields should get off to a pretty strong start!
If you have grasshoppers like I do I wish you luck on your wheat fields.
Its biblical this year, we may have to partially replant unless something changes. This front was looking a lot cooler a week ago, even showed Baird getting down around 40 and we'd hoped that would help. But rainy and 50 may do some good as well.

I wait till 1st of October to plant mine. Lost to many over the years to grasshoppers and army worms.
Drove from Midland to Sweetwater, and up through Hamlin on my way through Wichita Falls, this morning. Made it well past that, but the rain sure did slow me down.
Man Sneaky that is a lot of water! I live in Midland, I was up around Gail and Snyder/Ira today fields were full but not like that! Hoping our lake place does not flood out.
Yeah, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen rain like that out here. It was cold when I left Midland, but there wasn’t much moisture. One outfit I worked for in town had a dumpster by the road on Florida St. Didn’t take much rain, and we’d have to hunt down our dumpster somewhere between there and I20 when it floated off. A rain like this might have the thing clear in Garden City.
