I loved the cheese and the butter. The peanut butter you could have subed for concrete and bricked your house with it. The peanut butter was good for baking peanut butter cookies.

I've never had peanut butter cookies. Peanut Butter Cookies 1 cup shortening; 1 cup brown sugar; 1 cup granulated sugar; 2 eggs; 1 cup peanut butter; 1 tsp. vanilla; 3 cups flour 2 tsp. baking soda; 1/2 tsp. salt. Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Add peanut butter. Combine and gradually add dry ingredients. Set oven at 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Drop dough from teaspoon for small cookies or tablespoon for larger cookies. Bake for about 12 minutes until light brown.

During the cheese-making process, milk is separated into curds and whey. The curds are the result of the milk proteins solidifying, and the whey is the off-white to yellow liquid left behind. You can eat the curds plain -- commonly called farmer's cheese -- immediately after separation, or you can strain, shape and age them to create cheese varieties such as mozzarella and cheddar. Raw milk is easiest to separate into curds and whey, but it may be hard to find. Instead, use store-bought, pasteurized milk, but avoid ultra-pasteurized milk because the high heat makes curd formation more difficult.
I picked cotton. I milked cows. Have you milked a mule? Mules can not produce milk. Look it up. Have you tried milking one? I am gonna assume he has already tried

Swiss can as well, but that is not the norm even here in america. swiss from goat is no longer swiss IMO, same with gouda. it's an abomination, so I'll stick with my original thoughts. Gouda is not goat cheese and goat cheese is nasty.

My granny used to get both the butter and cheese...and they were AWESOME! +1
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

My dad was talking TODAY about how the government butter was the best he has ever had. Funny how history repeats itself. Government cheese was top quality also.

I had not thought about the cheese and butter we ate in many years. Does anyone remember the powdered milk that was popular around the same time as government cheese? I could stomach the cheese and butter, but the milk was terrible. I could handle the milk but I had to have about a dozen spoons full of Nestle's to go with it.
