I killed this hog on Saturday and the shot was low on the neck. The pig ran 90 yards or so spewing blood all over the place before giving up the ghost. Hard to believe they can run that far pouring massive amounts of blood.

Deer do the same thing, along with most animals. Pigs aren’t much tougher than the rest.

Agreed, they can take some punishment and keep on trucking.

No, that meat will be just fine. Even better actually, bleeding out well. Adrenaline making meat rank/ruining it is an old wives tale.
I can't tell you the number of big pigs that I've eaten that were chased down and caught by dogs, then stabbed in the heart. Meat was always good.
To the OP, keep after em'!

great job bigjoe856! I saw a 200+/- boar take a 100gr sierra GK right behind the ear from my boy's 243. Dropped him like a sack of potatoes. He hit the ground and laid on his side spinning in circles until he spun himself off the sendero. Hell, we went over to drag him off at the end of the hunt 45 minutes later and there was no sign of him.. Blood all over the place but that hog got up and took off. SMDH
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Happens too often, doesn’t make sense sometimes, but they disappear
