Just finished these. Only have to attach the springs that hold the lids on.

I have had the same idea for 55 gallon feeders. A little thought can turn into what you have right there! Nice job sir!

Everything looks well planned and placed except the solar panel. Wouldn't last long at our place hanging down like that.

I’d like to know where the barrel came from also

Dang, what do you have on your place? The solar panel is screwed to a piece of 14 gauge steel plate that is welded to another 14 gauge steel plate, the wire is completely concealed going through the plate into square tubing.

I buy the drums from a vendor at work. They are new 85-gallon salvage drums. I'm not sure exactly what the price is new, I believe around $155. I get them at a discount due to the amount of material we buy from them.

While mounting plate is good design; cattle and big hogs will still damage the solar panel (lick on it, lean on it, hooves on it, crack it and slobber on it). Thus, I would mount it higher.
Good looking feeders. are you planning to build and sell?

No, just building for myself.

Greatness. Price is right.
