My daughter has a 3 year old 225 lb English mastiff that shakes the acorns out of the trees when he barks. He's extremely friendly till you get too close to the kids or her.He made the FedEx guy soil himself 😂😂😂

That mastiff bark will damn sure get your attention. I have my brother’s dog here at home, he is half lab and half english mastiff. Big solid dog. Not long ago I was cleaning the kitchen and was bent over picking something up off the floor, when that dog barked right behind me (he heard someone pull into the drive) I jumped and dang near ate some cast iron cookware on the shelves. That bark is deep and goes straight to the bone lol.

He scared the crap out of the AC guys the other day, was pretty funny. One bark was all it took.

Maybe not the most conventional "protector" breed out there, but never underestimate the tenacity of a Blue Heeler. I've had two, and both were completely fearless in the face of danger, as well as extremely protective of me, my truck, my house, and anything else in their daily lives. And the word "smart" doesn't even begin to describe either one. I am presently without a heeler, and have two mutts at the house. Both great dogs in their own ways, but as soon as one kicks we'll be a heeler household again, no doubt.
