Jr, as I told you, I called you out for calling me a jealous tool, lecturing me about killing people, wearing panties and getting them wadded up. If you find this entertaining, that's small. Let me help you out, I'm serious. Mature, grown men don't communicate with each other this way. Kids, from 300 miles away over the internet do. I asked you if you wanted to meet me, and you laughed. I read some of your posts to try and figure you out a little bit. Are you an A & M Grad? If so, I'd be surprised. You would be the first A&M grad I have dealt with that comes off the way you do.

Let me guess, I called you a jealous tool because you went on a thread someone started to show off their deer they were proud of and you belittled them and their kill because it wasn't LF? If so then I stand by that. That's acting like a jealous tool.

And yes it is quite amusing how someone gets so worked up on the internet they want to meet someone. I'm in Lubbock so anytime you want to drive here let me know and I'll tell you where to find me.

You didn't answer my question about being an A&M Grad. Are you?

You lowered the bar, son. I thought A&M Grad's were honorable and didn't engage in name calling and insults. The one's that I am friends with are veterans, Dr's, a Judge, good men.

Strap it down like your family will be riding behind it! I deal with load securement of building materials daily, it can never be to secure!

I use a trailer wench and ratchet straps to the frame of the ATV not racks or such that can flex a lot. Front and rear axel strapped down, never has come unhooked.

only on a hunting forum can people get pissed off at each other over how to transport something - the season needs to get here and Covid needs to go away!

Good idea in theory. With the front tires jammed against the front rail, if you hit the brakes hard enough, that machine will hop that rail in a heartbeat & be in the back of your truck.

You mean putting an atv up against a rail and then using one strap that pulls the back of the machine down and raises the front isn't a good idea? trout

No, that would be a bad idea. My method uses a safety cable that creates downward pressure on the front. This would also retain the load in the trailer in the event of hard braking. You seem to keep overlooking the cable I use in addition to the one strap. I find your use of emoji's effeminate and childlike.

Z71dustin, I owe you an apology. I was raised to not argue with girls. I am sorry, I didn't know. You are right on all 12,042 posts you have made. You have a good day, and remember, you're just as good as the boys at school.

roflmao You probably take the award for getting your feelings hurt the most on here that I've seen in awhile. If you can't take criticism then the internet may not be a good place.

You're right again. Young girls like yourself are a lot better at "the internet" than I am. I'm more of a in person, face to face communicator.

In all honesty he wouldn't be allowed to help me strap anything down. I am very picky about how I haul and strap down loads as you can tell. But we are talking about farm equipment, tractors up to 130hp and cotton strippers.

I don't think her parents would sign the consent form.

I’m wondering if your cable & its attachment hardware are rated at least 3X the WLL?

Ok this is how I do it probably wrong and I'm sure somebody will tell me but I have a heavy chain attached to the sides of trailer that rests on the trailer with about of 18"of slack with a 4" length in the middle of chain held together with a link. This goes over the ball when I drive over it. Pull forward till chain is tight set the P brake get off and hook winch to eye low on front of trailer and winch tight. Secure with strap. This is quick and simple. Damn took longer to type this than the hook up. LOL

I use these and it makes things very easy and secure. I X the straps on the front and rear snuggling up the tires to the front rail and I don’t have to worry about always rounding up straps since they are mounted the the trailer. [Linked Image]

I haul stuff all the time a small excavator, a tractor so on and so fourth. I can't leave my trailer outside my my house for more than one night, so I don't haul my ATV on a trailer I still put it in the bed of the truck. I use 2 10k# ratchet straps, one it the front is tightened up first and does load the suspension very little and the back I go over both tires and through the just above my tow hitch. If I do put it on a trailer I put my winch line from the four wheeler to the top rail on my trailer then use my straps as said prior.

Is it the right way? I don't know but I've done it for years, I check my tie downs at every stop and if we're traveling with no planned stops and it's a good distance I'll hit an exit and check.

I don't know if this thread is still going on or not about strapping equipment down, but I usually drive the ATV/UTV to the front of the trailer against the front rail, strap it down to the tie down points at the front of the trailer, and then wrap a strap around the axles at the back of the equipment and use the tie down points on the back of my trailer to strap it down there too. I've had the thing go over 600 miles on the highway/interstate and down gravel/dirt roads and pasture without any trouble doing it this way. I'll use some rope as an insurance policy as well if I feel the need to. I've done our tractors this way too, but I'm talking about like 30-50 horse tractors most of the time. For the bigger ones, I use chains and ratchet binders.
