Looking for a recommendation on a good stand up freezer people have used themselves and recommend.
My current unit is increasingly icing up requiring defrost about every 8-12 months. Seems to be freezing inconsistently, been this way from new - Maytag We have good rotation going in there, use milk/coke crates for the ground, steak sausage etc and maintain spacing around everything. Seems like it either can’t circulate air well or doesn’t want to live in well ventilated non HVAC attached garage. I spend some pretty hefty $ on processing per year (Give most away to meat freeloaders) but anyways it worries me that I’m going to lose my extremely expensive product and it’s also a pain to always have to monitor, then fill coolers, defrost, fill again..... Thinking maybe go commercial??

Yep dad had one that was probably built by General Electric or Henry Ford himself, it worked forever....unfortunately they don’t seem to be made that way anymore.....

We have two Frigidaire and one 25 year old Kenmore I got at a yard sale the Frigidaire are new got them when the mad rush for food hit. No issues with any other than the New Freezers don't weight anything my wife could load/unload it from the truck with no problem.

I just bought 2 low/high temp alarms for our 2 freezers. Electric storm 2 weeks ago hit transformer close by and shut one freezer down. Must have a self healing fuse or something because it started working again. Lucky for us we noticed it before we lost anything. Not taking any chances with a freezer full of elk, antelope, fish, etc.

I got rid of a Maytag 3 years ago that had the same issue as yours. And it was kept in the house. I replaced it with a Kenmore and it's run frost free with no issues. One thing to look for when you shop. Several brands make "Garage Ready" freezers designed to deal with the temperature swings in an uncontrolled environment.

Good luck finding a new freezer right now.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Yeah click on the first one and it says ready for pick up February 23. My aunt bought one in May, pick-up scheduled for end of November.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

There is not a Sears Kenmore factory. The Kenmore can be made by any number of manufacturers. I'm not saying that is good or bad, just letting you know. Also, Whirlpool merged with or bought out Maytag a few years ago, if that makes any difference to you. I don't know if any of them are leaps and bounds better than the next. Good luck!
