I don't think I have ever heard of a 2 week lease. If it was the first two weeks of deer season, it would most likely cost the same as if you leased it for the whole season. If it was the last two weeks, then maybe it would be a a much lower price.

I suggest going through an outfitter for a package hunt that meets your needs. If you just want meat, some places with many MLDP tags, may make you a deal on a doe, spike, hog hunt. There is to much involved in a regular lease to get one for such a short time period.

Just ride around and choose a good looking ranch, then call yourself a "protester" and the law will let you be. I'd suggest Washington, Oregon or Cali........not Texas.

Look in the Open Hunting Discussion, there's a rancher looking for suggestions on how to make some money from hunting on his place. You never know, it might work out for both of you.

Sir you have totally misunderstood me, I didn't realize I was going to be belittled for asking a question, I reread my post and apologize for the confusion.if I wanted to be on a lease I would, I hunt all over the lower 48 and have property south of rocksprings.I also hunt a lot of public land here in Texas not because I have to but it's what I choose to do. Thank you and have a good night

I've killed several good deer basically for free, have 9800 acres to hunt and rarely have I seen another person,it's in the big thicket national park, some of the most beautiful white oak flats you ever seen.Theres a nice spring fed creek and some baygalls. I don't score deer or anything cause I don't care,I get on a buck till I get him or he out smarts me . cannot bait and can't leave a stand over night and if you don't know those woods you better have a compass.and you walk in and out,I hunt 1.1 miles from my truck according to the gps.like I said before I don't have to do all that anymore but it's what I like,I'm 62 years old and I have been hunting this way pretty much all my life.i really didn't know you could put a monetary value on what you really enjoy. I imagine that I have killed more deer than you have ever seen so just leave me alone and I'll leave you alone okay

I don't know why I'm even bothering but,I hunt in public land near my house early in the season because the rut is much earlier than rocksprings,I hunt my own place later. But why would you look down your nose at public land hunters,at least they have the opportunity which they might not have. And I hope you have the best season ever

No one should have to explain why they hunt public land.

I really didn’t know there was a snobbery thing with hunting? I had no clue that public land hunters were looked down on? Learn something new everyday
