Well today wasn’t my day for yard work. Lawnmower has been in its last leg for 2 years but somehow it keeps ticking as long as I keep the oil full. Leaks about as quick as I go through a tank of gas. Honda motor has done well. It’s over 10 years old. Well I’ve got to replace it. Going to a riding mower this time. Wasn’t planning on buying this year but looks like I’m going to have to. Anyone seeing any deals on quality stuff? Don’t mind spending if it’s going to last.
Then we have the weed eater. Troy Bilt 4 stroke. Never been easy to start from day one. Vibrates like crazy, heavy and now the motor locked up on it today. No warning other than the other years of just being difficult to get running. Has gas, oil, new air filter. Went to start it today and it lasted maybe 30 seconds and locked up on me. Can’t get it to break loose at all. House we close on this week doesn’t have a ton of landscaping or much weed eating needed. Was looking at possibly going battery powered but I’m not a huge fan. Would get the job done and be light which would be nice for my shoulder. Any cons other than it’s battery powered?

Still waiting to get the actual survey back but appears it’s bigger than we thought. Going to attempt and buy the lot next door too if I can get the school district to sell it. Listed as .68 acre which I could push mow but I’m over that. Been pushing a little more than that the last 2 years.

Can't help with your decision on the mower without more information..
Go cordless on your weed eater. You can add new attachments as needed.

I just got a new Stihl gas weed eater. Really like it. As for mowers, options are many. The wife loves her zero turn. She hated her lawn tractor (aka riding mower). Good luck choosing.

Zero turn would be nice just not sure I can justify it with the size I’m working with.

My ztr just quit after about 30 yrs of operation. It is worth repairs. Yazoo/Jeez. No longer produced. Buy a ztr. You will cut your mowing time in half or better, get a better cut and it may be the last mower you'll buy.
Anything Troy Built...............never again.

Weedeater
If you can get by with battery power do it.
If not
Husqvarna Stihl echo
If you get the Husky or Echo be sure and get the commercial grade model for years of service. Use premixed no ethanol fuel no matter what you buy. Husqvarna made the mistake of merging with Poulan several years ago and marketing the top of the Poulan as entry level Husky. It really smeared their name. They still make quality equipment, you just have to pay attention.

Cordless for the weedeater. Its pure greatness to see a small area to trim and simply pick up the cordless without so much an priming it, much less several pulls and cussing.

I bought a John Deere riding lawnmower from HOME depot with a 2year pay off zero interest with HD NEW CREDIT CARD, I HAVE 2 ACRES and a lot of trees. The machine was set up and delivered by a John Deere dealer. Very pleased with it so far bought in January because February price went up 100$.

I got a John Deere three years ago from Lowes. No interest if you paid it off in a year. Mow about 2 acres. Lots of trees and such. No problems but did replace battery this spring. .

On the mower check out Craftsman with Tight Turn radius. Lowe’s, I think.
Trimmers and edgers, Echo.
Blower: Hitachi. Great unit with a four year warranty right out of the box.

I had one of those Toro 4 cycle Weed Eaters. It was on sale at Lowes and though if I tear it up at the deer lease big deal. Heck I tore it up trying to start it.
I threw it away.
Thanks, Billy

I have an EGO 56V weedeater and blower. Both have worked very good! They have a 3 year warranty on their batteries. Right at the 3 yr mark (1 month away) I had the battery crap out on me. I had registered it for the warranty when I purchased it so I just have them a call. They looked up my warranty info and got me a new ($150) in the mail and got it to me in about a week and a half. I needed a battery to finish weedeating that day and I couldn't wait over a week. So I just went down and bought the blower w/ charger and battery for $200. Same battery for both tools so got another charger and blower for $50 more that what the battery alone cost.
