I was infatuated with Euro rounds in my 20s, specifically the 275 Rigby/7x57. Never got the 7mm but I currently have a 6.5x55 and a 9.3x62.
I think the 9.3x62 is my current favorite. Has a long history of a poor mans 375 H&H for German settlers in Africa in the early 1900s. It's like a big 308 with a reputation for inherent accuracy and killing power VS recoil. I've used some of the 285 grain loads but I think the best is the 250 Accubond which can be pushed north of 2600 fps with a BC of .494. It's a large step up in killing power from my 308 should I need it. My 9.3 is CZ 550 Carbine with 20.5" barrel. Pretty light and compact for the punch it packs.

Torn between the 7x57, the 7x64 Brenneke and the 6.5x55 but if I was pressed I would have to say the Swede is my fav.
That 9.3x62 cartridge sure is sexy though

That 9.3x62 cartridge sure is sexy though 'Own two 7X57s (a Ruger No.1 with a mannlicher stock, and a Ruger M77) and the other three have been on my rifle bucket list for many years. A Swede will be my next acquisition, if there is one.

The Swede hands down. Have owned several and I’m sure I will own more.

9.3x62, I’ve got an old German sporter built on a 98 Mauser, half octagon half round barrel with integral rib, double set triggers, well shaped stock. Fits well on a standard length Mauser, I’m not a fan of the .375 H&H on the same.
The only issue with my 8x60mmJ is there is no factory ammo available and .318” bullets are scarce, id swap it for a comparable 7x57. Guess I could put a 7mm barrel on, but copying the original half oct/half round barrel with integral parts isn’t for the faint...

The Swede hands down. Have owned several and I’m sure I will own more. I figured this one would likely be a favorite. A cartridge designed prior to 1900 was so ahead of its time.

Well I am down to 2 currently. Really liked the 275 Rigby, but that goes for the 6.5-284 Norma which is really just the 284 Win necked down.
Guess my favorite pure European cartridge now is the 6.5X54 not necessarily because of the cartridge itself but the slick action of the little Mannlicher–Schönauer 1903.

I really like Steyr bolt actions. I had an SBS in 300 Win Mag that I sold. I can see myself eventually buying another Steyr bolt.

I shot a cut down Swedish Mouser as a kid and have always liked that caliber. Still have the rifle and my kids enjoy shooting it. Someday I’d like to have a #1 in 7x57. My dad has a Ruger African in 6.5x55 and it’s a beauty.

The most fascinating one is clearly 6.5 x 52 Carcano.
I can't say how many scientists and experts wrapped their heads around this cartridge, but I don't think that ever any other cartridge will get that level of attention. You can't deny it has quite a part in Texan history books.

Hard for me to decide between 6.5x55mm and 8x57mm.
If I had to choose, the 6.5x55mm is less abusive.

Since it seems we are talking rifle rounds and the .303 British is the only one I've ever shot... There is your blast from the past for the day.
