All I know is that Amistad needs water and lots of it. But, I don't want to see 18 inches of rain like Del Rio got back in 1998(I think).

We could sure use some rain in central Texas. All the tanks are just about dry except for the big lake. And it is about 8 foot low.

Why haven't you moved.

I don't think people understand just what the gulf brings to the inland of the state. We need hurricanes, tropical storms, tropical depressions, tropical waves, and most importantly that Bermuda high. If not this place would be a desert. Its a give and take, plus it all leads back to the sea. Then starts the cycle all over again. The good thing is we can always move, if we choose to.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You've said a lot of dumb [censored], but that's pretty dumb.

Coming from you I take that as a compliment.

But for kicks and giggles, enlighten me as to how it’s dumb, to you. Please give me one example how man can control a hurricane. Please give one example how man has ever controlled a pandemic. Just one of each.

I do believe someone is still suffering from a bad case of SDS! Lol. So try again. If you can come up with a decent reply I might humor you.

Tropical moisture is always great for all of Texas....till people get to much rain like with Harvey. Throw in the destruction on top of all the rain and it was upwards of $125 billion dollars in damages.
I do not have a good feeling about Invest Storm 98 right now.

+1 it looks like it's got Florida in it's sights http://www.brevardtimes.com/2020/08/noaa-invest-98l-2020-track-spaghetti-models/

My wife's grandmother lived through what is now called the Galveston Storm of 1900. People rushed to the beach to watch the surge. Later there were bodies in trees. They built the seawall and said never again. Yet they were at my house with every warning.

We all chose to live where we do.

I lived on the Coast for a long time and the experienced the misery caused from hurricanes. Unfortunately, the Coast is where the jobs are.

When I was close to retirement, I started plans to get away from there. As close I want to be to a hurricane is Fox news.

Tropical depressions and hurricanes are a god send to the interior of the state at times.

Imagine what the Houston area will look like when another Hurricane Carla arrives. Alicia was a starter hurricane, I worked through it.

My point was to Covid-19, of course we can't control actual natural disasters like hurricanes. You said nature can be a beast. Covid-19 didn't come from nature, or do you still believe it came from a bat?

If you think that man is not controlling/using/manipulating Covid-19 for their agenda, then I don't know what to tell you.

Honestly, I don't know how if feels to suffer from SDS. It's obviously affected you though. Poor soul.

Now, back to hurricanes...

YES! I've had enough of hurricanes. We're still cleaning up & rebuilding from the last major one.

I don’t want anyone to get hit with a hurricane but west central Texas is hurting pretty bad right now. Our place looks like it did in 2010

I believe "aransas pass trash" is what the inlanders like to call the hard working people of your area.
