Excellent! And thanks for the pic. 'Don't know why I never thought of a pull cord to open the gate quickly, especially when a deer is trapped. I keep perfecting my details on the traps, but I'm obviously a very slow learner. grin

What's the pole in the middle of the trap for?

That pull cord helps keep me out of the way when a trapped deer makes one of their thundering exits! I found that being anywhere close to that exit can turn me into an unwilling bareback deer rider, and I'm much too old for that kind of action any more! (Really never was the right age for that!)
Not sure what pole you're referring to, Creekrunner! I have a small pedestal that I made from a piece of pipe and a base of plywood. I balance the weight I use on top of the pipe, run a line from the weight up, through the panel, and over to the prop stick. When the hogs come in and root around the pedestal, the weight drops and the line pulls the prop stick out, allowing the gate to swing close. Is that the "pole in the middle of the trap" that you're referring to? Here's a couple of pics of the pole, pedestal and weight:

I've been considering the use of one of the "Cell-Link" devices that hook up to my game cameras and send pics to my iPhone. Since one of my traps is 16 miles away, making the 32 mile round trip each day to review the SD card contents gets a bit wearisome. So far it has worked as advertised. It sends the pics in batches, and I can skim through them and figure out what animals are visiting and when. And of course I can see if an animal is in the trap. Cost me $60 for the device (at Tractor Supply; you can find them for less, but the way shipping times are going, I decided I really didn't want to wait), There's 4 different plans offered as far as volume of pictures per month it will allow. The Free Plan gives you 100 pics a month; for $5 a month you get the BASIC plan and 250 photos/month; Standard Plan for $10 a month and 1,000 pics, and the Premium plan, for $15/month gives you unlimited photos.

Cool to see that you got some pigs up
Here is a neat addition that I did to an All Seasons trap after I got tired of dragging pigs through the door. I made a new bottom for it and hinged it with latch at the other corners. Makes for an easy way to get the pigs out.

Most excellent modification! I put a trap door at the rear of my new trap, but it's only 2 feet by 2 feet. Should have gone larger, and I definitely like the side door placement!
