Anyone have experience with any of the Italian made Single Action Army revolvers? RE; Pietta, Cimarron, Uberti, Pedersol ?

Are the good shooters?

I only have experience with one. Beretta Stampede in 357, and it shoots as good as the Ruger blackhawk I had in the past. The Stampede came about shortly after Beretta holdings acquired Uberti

Cimarron doesn't manufacture firearms, they are an importer. Last Friday I took delivery on two Cimarrons. One is a PIetta 1873 in 45 Colt with a 5.5 inch barrel. The other is an Uberti 1851 Navy Conversion "Man With No Name" (Clint Eastwood movies) chambered in 38 Special. I can't say enough good things about Cimarron. You can't go wrong with Pietta or Uberiti. Here are three Piettas I've had:

I have a 5 and 1/2 inch Cimaron El Roy in a .357 mag. It’s a beautiful gun and fun to shoot. I don’t shoot it very often I bought it more or less just to have a cowboy six gun but thus far it has preformed flawlessly

Uberti
Model P Jr
38 Special

I really like it. Fun to shoot and an easy carry.
The grip is said to be same size as regular Model P.
Cimarron customer service has been very good.
A couple screws had some slot damage when I got it
but replacements were easy to get. I don’t know if this
is standard operating procedure but I do seem to have to
tighten certain screws after a few trips to the range.
Also, I had to file down the front sight as it shot very low
with my hold/aim. Probably just me as my grandsons didn’t
have the issue. But it’s mine so... now I’m much better with it.
This all may sound like negatives but not for me. Again, I like it
very much and would buy another if I needed it.

Had a couple. They shoot good and tend to lock up better than rugers.

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

So which one are you looking at? Have a caliber in mind?

Uberti Smoke Wagon

Cimarron Doc Holiday (Uberti)

Pietta

The Doc Holiday is my favorite, the Smoke Wagon is the smoothest. Good fit and finish on both.

The Pietta is the only one I’ve had trouble with and that was from pure abuse. You can’t fan a gun for very long without modifications. If you do you can expect failure.

I like the Rugers better but only because they’re more robust. Still can’t fan them though without modifying. Munden custom shops have packages for such fun, they’re more expensive than the gun itself though.

Talking to a gunsmith I know, the heat treating on some of the parts is not up to standards and will wear quickly as well as parts breakage. This was In regard to some of the Italian copies. If you only shoot light loads, may never be a problem. He told me to avoid them for anything but re-enactments.
