Same here, just looking for a system for outside.

The cams are same for inside or outside for the most part.

Make sure when you get a system you can add more cameras in the future if you want or need, You will find other places you would like to have more coverage. I am running 12 cams

Bought the Vava Cam Pro set (two cameras and the hub) and installed it all today. Took a couple of hours. I am impressed. Ran USB charging charging cables direct to the cameras even though the batteries are good for several months (I don’t want to have to bother with recharging them). I won’t list all of the specs — look it up. But for under $300 it beats the heck out of the $1,200 wired mess of a system (a 4-year-old HD Lorex system) that it replaced. I’ll probably add another 3-4 cameras, but I couldn’t be happier.

Here’s a shot from the cam above the garage with no additional lighting (9:40pm).

Certifiably insane. Not kidding.

how many cameras can you link to one hub? or is there a hub per camera? are these cloud storage only or can a DVR with memory be used? looks to be $193 per camera, could be pricey to have 8+ cameras ...

We have the Blink cams, very good quality and put one on the dock at the lake to watch the hybrids at night. They use AA lithium and I havent replaced in 6 months plus.

I have 3 Arlo Pro 2's on my house and have been pretty happy so far. I only have to recharge them about every 60-70 days and they recharge pretty quickly.

I spent $280 for the hub (comes complete — plug’n play), two cameras (with mounts, etc.), and an upgrade to a 128Gig micro-SD (comes with 8Gig). The app is free and storage is local. It is movement triggered (I have no use for a NAS storing countless weeks of video when all that I need to know is when someone comes around), 10sec or 20sec or 30sec video clips (keeps shooting clips as long as there is movement in the area, and you can customize the monitoring days/time of day), phone and/or email notifications, with sensitivity at 3m - 5m - or 7m (low, med, high), and a “human silhouette” camera feature option (helps to avoid recording the wife’s dog). The hub will take up to 8 cameras, and you can link another hub in series if you want more. For our needs, it is far better than any other option and, if tomorrow I should be persuaded otherwise, I haven’t lost my shirt. Manufacturer’s link for additional info.
