Damn coon keeps outsmarting me......this last time he taunted me. It took the tuna can out of the cage, and left it sitting neatly on the rail...... I'm gonna get him tonight. Crab legs will be on the menu.

I've caught 3 in the last 4 days. My "Rockies" must be dumb. That makes 53 since last fall (november). Check the tension on the trap door/panel. Set it lite.

Personally, I’m going with the under dog on this one.

Wife said she saw one in our backyard last week. So now it's coons, possums, rats, and tree rats. We live about a mile from the nearest creek! Have only caught possums, rats, and the occasional cat in the no-harm traps.

Sounds like you have the dreaded Girafficoon. They have long necks and reach over the trap door plates. You're toast. Keep your kids up at night after 7pm.

Punch a hole thru the tuna can or cat food can and wire it to the trigger pan. Do not open the can of bait completely either, make a small opening so he will have to grab it to get the bait out.

Coons have hands so they might be able to grab a snare and pull it off. If you go with a leg hold and a neighbor's cat, etc. gets caught- big deal- I'd go with a Dog proof type trap. Or a cage type.

Ok try this but get it on video. Unscrew the bulb from a clamp on drop light. Clamp it on the wooden rail he is walking. Press a piece of tin foil in the bottom. Squirt some honey on the tin foil. Plug it in.
