Well, I’m going into the firewood business. Just picked up a new 30 ton splitter.

[Linked Image]

I’ll be selling seasoned/split Live Oak by the rick and by the chord (full/honest measurements). I’ve never bought or sold firewood before and don’t really know where to start as far as selling price. Hoping some of yall who buy or sell different types of firewood can help me out. If I deliver, I have no idea what to charge either.

That machine sure looks like it will do the job. I use an old HF hydraulic manual splitter at the house. Good luck on your new endeavor.

roflmao We are Live Oak country lol. After the storm I cut and hauled off hundreds of tons of wood, and a long way from being finished. Now, a bunch of my trees that I thought were going to make it are either dead or dying. I’ve got a little time on my hands right now so figured why not. Plus, I’m tired of splitting wood by hand. Too dang hot for that.

If you were closer I would order some wood, but don’t figure you would deliver a cord to dfw for a reasonable price

Craigslist or one of those local Ad Sack or similar weekly prints will have some local pricing. I think it ranges from $150 to 200 per seasoned chord without delivery. From time to time I see places beside the road that used to or still sell firewood...one in George West and one in Charco come to mind. Big money is in the little bundles they sell on C stores to weekenders at the coast, lake or party in the backyard.

Yes Sir. I’ve given away quite a bit to weekenders that I cut and stacked, wouldn’t take anything for it...but if I’m going to split and stack I’m selling it lol.

In Lubbock, Oak like that is $300 a cord, easy. Don't sell cheap, OP. It's hard work.

You'll love the vertical, easy on the back

Put a stump in front of the splitter to sit on, have a helper throw logs to you and a helper/s to stack the split wood
