Wife and I finally made it up to a new restaurant that opened close by at Coit & Campbell Rd. called "The Catch" I had the French Quarter plate, wife had the fried Catfish & Shrimp. Now my palate was a little off for I had several glass's of Cab before we got there. My French Quarter plate was good, no wow factor, fortunately my wife shared some of her shrimp, catfish and fried Okra that was fricking delicious. So I will go back for the fried Catfish, Shrimp and Okra for sure!

If you're around Sherman TX, go to Huck's I use to love that place, but we went for the first time in YEARS last weekend and it was plain awful. I'm pretty sure they use swai now and even then the filets were super thin and the breading had zero seasoning.

Was going to grill Brats & Dogs last night and the wife pops off and says, hot dogs and brats for dinner tonight? The way she said it was like that is not what she really wants for dinner. I said it is that or we can pick up some more of the fried cats & shrimp, big grin on her face and she says, okay lets go! Yep it was way good again Fire the Weber up tonight.

Had a drink or three last night and the wife goes; when would like me to go to the Catch and get your dinner? Around 8 honey, I love you When I first opened it up I thought Dayum they forgot my shrimp Then relief ensued as I notice them underneath one of the filets. It was all good as usual, but for some reason the Okra was exceptionally good.

Sure could use some good fried catfish right now. Went to Big Shucks on Coit Rd. Richardson last night, oh man it was very good! Fried Cats were spot on, good rings and Gumbo.

Crabs Restaurant and Flounders Restaurant on Pensacola Beach, the seafood you eat that evening was most likely swimming in the gulf or the bay that morning.
I don't eat any seafood here in DFW, it is not fresh enough for me.

I'm pretty sure they use swai now and even then the filets were super thin and the breading had zero seasoning. This is happening alot now. When you go to a place and you get those giant fillets the chances of them actually being Channel Cat are slim to none. Consider the fact that the huge majority of farm raised cats are harvested at 1-1.5 pounds there is no way those half pound fillets are being cut from a 1 pound catfish. On top of that Channel Cat is not cheap even on the wholesale market. When you eat enough Channel Cat and then get fed Swai you will know on the first bite. To me Swai does not taste bad, but the texture is dang sure not the same as Channel Cat.
