So I get my renewal notice and my premium is 15% higher. Like most, I don't drive anywhere near as much and doubt I will in the foreseeable future. I had actually gotten a small credit as a Covid-19 adjustment. That is obviously temporary. I guess they want it back, plus some. Has anybody else experiencing the same? I hate to shop around as I have been with this agency for over 15 years and I like my agent.

Good question. I got a refund on my first six months. Haven't gotten my second billing.

Nope, mine actually went down. I have an insurance broker that shops around for my home owners and car insurance each year around renewal time. Got better rates this year on both.

Mine went down. Not much, but it was down - plus the small downward China flu adjustment.

Slightly but it will be going down. If not driving much have your agent submit for a low mileage discount. That is what i just did.

I'd and have shopped around.

Talked to my agent yesterday, got auto and HO reduced a bit. Been with this guy for 20 years and he has always done me right.

When I questioned it she called me back and was able to knock a whopping $30 off. I guess I'm going to shop around. What a PIA.

And in my truck to top it off. Haven’t even bothered fixing it yet.

In April we switched from Liberty Mutual to Progressive for auto and dropped them for HO as well. We bought a used car for my daughter in December and they raised our policy a little over 1G for the car. When the daughter turned 16 in January and we had to add her to the policy, they wanted to raise the policy another 5K. I figured I was going to take a hit when I added a 16 year old to the policy, but not a 5K hit (6K if you add the increase for her car). So grand total for my wife, myself and my daughter to insure a Highlander, Tundra and CRV was going to be right around $9500/yr. I told them there were out of their mind and there was no way I was going to pay an additional 6K/yr for a car that was only worth 7K and I certainly wasn't going to pay 9.5K/yr for car insurance. I called a broker friend of ours and she got us setup with Progressive for right around 4.5k/year.

Thanks,
Rich

Geico gave me a 15% discount.

Like others are saying "Shop around". Several years ago I dropped my Allstate agent and went with Geico. I got more than a 50% drop by going with Geico. I now realize Allstate "the good hands people" liked having their good hands in my wallet. I should have shopped around years before.

Years ago, you could stick with one company and be treated well. Now, you should review your costs and coverages and change as often as required!

Get with a broker and see what they can do for you. Our broker is down in Georgetown and they call us with any better and/or cheaper options. She saved us over $1000 a year this year by switching to a different insurance company.

I switched all my insurance auto/home/life through a family friend with the local farm bureau right before I got married 8 years ago now. My agent whom I trust told me himself I wont be happy to see you go, but in a couple years you will find someone who can offer you a better deal than I can and in another couple years it will happen again. He said only way to keep cheap insurance it to shop every 2-3 years. I know I could save a little by changing just too big a pain in the A and I like my agent and had great service.
