For all of you all who have now had some experience with reloading for your 300 HAM'R, what load is giving you the best accuracy? I've tried a bunch in the 18 inch barrel, and thus far, 27.4 grains of CFE/BLK under a Sierra 110 grain varminter #2110 has been giving me the best results. I've got lots of different bullets, lots of brass, lots of primers and lots of time on my hands, so tell me what is working for you! I'd like to see if what works for your rifle might work for mine. Also, I am getting MOA groups with the Sierra 125 grain ProHunters, but would love to "snug up" the groups.

Scott you need to edit your settings to include more posts to a page. It's only 20 on mine wink Maybe then that whole thread wouldn't irritate you as much roflmao

28.2 CFEBLK
130 HotCor
2.17 OAL

This was Bill's "pet" load...I thought I'd start there and it shoots good enough I've not looked for another one. Shockingly to be honest, but I also have 3 rifles right now in some stage of load development so my back log has created some of that too.

I may be wrong but this load is Bill's go to load when hunting hogs and may be when deer season starts this fall. I know in my 300 ham'r, it will hammer 4 inch gong regularly at 215 yds when the nut behind the trigger does it's part. I also am shooting 18" barrel.

Judd/Dlallder, thank you for your replies. I'm looking for the most accurate handload I can cook up, not for hunting, but to beat the pants off my shooting buddies at our weekend, BIG STAKES, shooting matches. Everyone puts in 5 nickels. There are then 5 contests, all from benches, all at 100 yards, any rifle/scope combination is allowed. Only rule is NO FACTORY AMMO ALLOWED. After each contest, the winner takes all; sometimes as much as 30 cents, since there are usually 6 of us. At the end of the 5 rounds, the overall winner is declared, and he has to buy everyone an adult beverage of their choice (used to be at a bar, now it's beer at the range after all the shooting stuff is safely stowed away in the vehicles!). So this is serious chit, not to be taken lightly by anyone. And I'm really sorry that my request has pizzed off scott. Hope he'll get over it real soon.

Mikei, If you go to WC website and look under the 300 Ham'r rifle section, you will see load data, showing many loads & Bill's opinion of the best for accuracy & hunting. If that doesn't fill the bill, PM Bill and he will give you the facts any load. If you are expecting 1/2-1/4 " groups at 100 yds, you may be disappointed. 3/4 " are rather consistent, depending on the nut behind the trigger. After reading your post a second time. If your buddies are shooting bolts with hand loads & quality guns, you may want to think about a bolt gun also. WC's guns are hard to beat up against other AR type but bolts will normally win out. Daniel

Okay, Mike - call Chad because he has/had a bunch of Berger 115’s which should be a more accurate bullet for target shooting. I haven’t looked into them and they might be longer and need to be single fed but I suspect it’ll be one of the most accurate over the counter bullets.

Scott is one of the good guys around here. The 300 Hamr here was hyped up enough you’d think it was a Creedmoor something. I get where he’s coming from. I was going to buy a blackout and this came out, I wasn’t going to shoot subs so it made sense to go this route. I’ve been pretty happy with it and I haven’t felt under gunned with my buddies who are shooting 308’s. I’m also doing it in a 11.3” barrel and it’s very “handy”.

Thanks, Judd! I got on the 300 HAM'R train early and really like everything about it. I've collected lots of hogs, a couple of deer, and several vermin with it. It performs as adverstised, imho. Now I'm doing the same thing with the 6mm ARC. I've got almost all the parts needed for my build, and Brownells swears they will deliver the last of what I need today! With any of the new calibers, I want to squeeze every tenth of an inch of accuracy out of them that I can. "Hunting accuracy" and "Shooting Contest With Other Old Men Accuracy" are two different thing! The pursuit keeps me busy and out of the bars. . .

I've got really good accuracy (sub 1/2") from the following bullets over varying charges of CFEBLK, you just have fine tune the charge to what your bbl likes for that "optimum" accuracy load.

110gr Hornady SP
110gr Lehigh CC
125gr Sierra SPT PH
125gr Speer TNT
135gr Hornady FTX
135gr Speer HAM'R Bonded

Thank you, Bill. I'll be plowing through these options for as long as my powder and bullet supply holds up! It's really difficult to find components nowadays, and with just cause. Folks are really on edge about the way things are going down.
