Doc owed a buddy of mine a pup. He gave us two, year old Shorthair pups to take to west Texas to try out. Neither had ever seen a wild bird. I threw a dead bird in the brush and the male Hank brought it right to hand. I trained the male and he’s the biggest prettiest shorthair I’ve ever seen. Tough as nails. The next year we took him out and he was amazing. I was very proud when he pointed his first covey and dug a runner out of a hole his first real wild bird trip. Love that big bastard.my buddy bought a trained gyp sister too last year. I’m ready to see what she does. The first day I met that old man we ran 5 pointer pups a year old and I liked 4 of them a lot.
