Buzzard Billy's on the river was good for cold beer and appetizers, did not eat a regular meal.

You got George’s on speight ( Pat Greene) wrote a song about the place. On elm street 2 bbq places Jaspers and Tony demiras. Hearth camp on the circle for a greasy burger. Vitek bbq home of the gut pack. These are hole in the wall places except for George’s. They all are Waco landmarks.

Chuy’s for Mexican food. Twisted Root for burgers. George’s for lots of stuff.

Twisted Root is pretty good, I also like all the pickle choices they have.

Buzzard Billy's has been one of my favorites for years. Excellent fried catfish, excellent fried Gator, and really EXCELLENT gumbo!
For really good BBQ check out Guess Family BBQ. A new comer to the Texas Top 50 list

I'm showing my age here, but Cathy got her college degree from Baylor. She worked a couple semesters at The Circle cafe. Is the circle still in existence?

How about breakfast? Will be passing through Waco Friday morning. There is a good taco-aria on the I 35 service road just south(probably 300 feet) of the Hampton Inn North. Good food

How about breakfast? Will be passing through Waco Friday morning. George’s opens at 7 am, or it did pre craziness. Only problem with breakfast is not having a Big “O” with your meal. Well, I guess you could have one but I’m just not a big morning beer drinker.

Bill, the Circle Restaurant is now the Magnolia Restaurant. I haven’t been in there since the new name and ownership.
Wayne, there’s an Egg and I on New Road. The name may be changed though. And there’s a Waffle House on I-35. That’s where I’d go.

George’s also has something I can’t get everywhere - fried jalapeño slices.
If you want an old fashioned burger and great onion rings, go to the Rocket Cafe in Robinson.
Buzzard Billy’s has red beans and rice, with sausage. Pretty good, and hard to find in this part of the world. It needs Tabasco though.

It’s off the beaten path, but for the best Cajun food around hit Friday’s on Hwy 77. It’s a DIVE, but awesome, awesome food!!

We went to Buzzard Billy’s and it was good. Had the best chocolate shake at the Health camp too
