I just saw this post I must have missed it. I traded text with Walter, he did test positive and it was tough but he is doing much better now and on the road to recovery. He is waiting to get a negative test now, he has had 2 positive. If you ever met Walter, he is a young tough kid, he is a rail, this is not something that just hits old frail folks.

I hope youre feeling better.

fwiw, I took 400mg of HCQ (along with D3 and Zinc) daily as soon as the first symptoms began. It knocked it out pretty quick.

My daughter just got over it this week.
Her and two other girls caught it at the same time. Memorial Day weekend in Waco.
All three girls stayed at my daughters apartment. They all experienced the same symptoms at the same time and all woke up on the 18th with symptoms gone. This virus is weird.
They are all 21-22 years old.
No taste no smell starting 6/4.
Got tested 6/7
Positive results back on 6/12
Tightness in chest
Low grade fever 99.3-100
Stuffy nose and nasal congestion
Intermittent Dry couch but not bad
Mild shortness of breath for 1-2 days
Bad headache for about 6 days.
Restless and sleepless nights.
Then all three wake up on 6/18 and headache and and other symptoms gone.

Getting retested ext week.

Incase you are wondering how the nasal swab works.
Daughter said the nurse said sit on your hands. Then she put her hand on the back of her head and inserted the swab.
Daughter said the other girls said they had to put their head against the wall when they inserted the swab.
Just preventing them from pulling away. scared

I received the 10 inch Q-Tip of Death a couple of weeks ago in a drive through testing location prior to having a procedure a few days later. 10 seconds, each nostril. It sucks...

My son is 11 months and had to have it done for his surgery. He was mad for a second but did not get the full 10". He will probably be the only one tested in our family.

The first time my doc showed me an extra long, one-sided swab and a line he marked on it with his pen, he said "Im sorry but its got to go in this far". I replied by asking him how and the heck could he stick it in that far without touching my brain? He grinned as I watched it disappear WAY the fk up my nostril.

And yes, it sucks. Like a reverse prostate exam.

My youngest will have to be tested for his surgery, as well. I hope he’s the only one.

It’s been 10 days. You back to 100 percent yet?

Did they give you anything for it?

Thank y’all! I really appreciate all the txts checking to see how we’re doing. I think we’re back to 100% now. I’ve been feeling really good the last couple days. Now to get a negative test and go back to work. I’ve been tested three times so far with all being positive. None of the test are fun and chest pains were the worst part. But we’re through it now. I appreciate all the well wishes, and all the txt I got from everyone checking. Also big shout out to guy. He txted me yesterday and asked if I wanted some crappie so I said heck yeah. Not only did he drop the fish off but he hooked me up. Big thank you sir.

Glad your on the plus side of this thing. up

My 26 year old woke up early Thursday morning feeling horrible, he works at a hospital so he called them and went in. Tested positive for Covid, he said there was a small spot of pneumonia in the bottom of his left lung. They gave him antibiotics for that and sent him home to quarantine. He said the fever (100) was tolerable but his throat felt like it was on fire. He said starting Friday he was feeling better overall, just the throat hurting sucked. Saturday morning he woke up drenched, fever broke. I talked with him this morning, still no more fever and everything feels better than it has, he said he lost 6lbs because he just wasn't hungry so he has been making sure he eats every few hours. He said he was doing a little bit of weight lifting at home to exercise. No real tightness in his chest and his breathing has been fine throughout the ordeal. He never got the nausea or dizziness, his strep test was negative so the sore throat is probably the CV. o2 % has stayed pretty steady. He said his GF gave him ginger tea that he drinks warm to help the throat. Her symptoms so far are headache, hives and sore throat. They won't test her until other symptoms show up, fever/cough. He can be tested again once he goes 3 days without fever. Ohh, and being stuck in his apartment sux.

This cannot be fixed at the voting booth.. Wake Up You Morons!

My daughter was told by the doctor that the swab will show positive for a while because there is still virus, although inactive, in the nasal cavity.
He said to get the combined antibody and active virus test that is done at the same time via finger stick. No swab needed.
She is going next week to have that done. It is also covered 100% by our insurance.

Just to update we are feeling much better and have no symptoms. Now waiting for negative test to head back to work.

Also the crappie from guy turned out amazing. Probably best fish I’ve ever had. And the tater sauce was great. I’m gonna need that recipe guy!

Those look pretty good, maybe a little over cooked. grin

Tartar sauce, man always doing it differently, but pretty much like this:
* Mayo
* Pickle, I mix it up, sweet and dill, yours was a polish dill pickle.
* Pepper
* Salt, I roll with Tony's here..
* Dill Weed..
* Fresh squeezed lemon..
* Mustard, I used ground seasoning or out of jar. Your batch I used a sweet gourmet hot mustard my son loves...

This my ingredients last batch.. Spice on left is half pepper and half Tony's, my base season always salt and pepper. I have pepper and sea-salt mix I use for red meat.
