I stand corrected - I guess business is still welcome in Travis county, as long as the proprietor is a bi-polar genius and smokes weed. (2nd part is most important.)

Musk is letting those 5000 new employees pay his taxes. Where there's jobs, there's houses. Where theres houses, theres property taxes. Schools will get their funding one way or another.

Anything that has the potential to increase Texas GDP as much as this plant is a good thing.

5000 seems like a big number.

I double checked with my guy and he reconfirmed that number. Hes not directly in the know but usually pretty knowledgeable.

They thought the Toyota plant was gonna rejuvenate the south side. That didn’t quite happen like they planned. A couple new neighborhoods, that was it.

If they in fact do move to Travis county I would bet most employees would come from surrounding areas like Bastrop, Buda, Luling, etc. and the growth from the plant itself would be minimal.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

This is the same argument AOC made when Amazon wanted to have HQ2 in New York. It was stupid then and it’s stupid now.

I guess it could be. When I toured the Toyota plant in San Antonio they had about 1900 employees. That didn't count the employees for the parts suppliers there so maybe it is 5000

Nobody from Austin would work there without on site dispensary and Starbucks.

I’m not sure Austin is really Texas ...

You have noticed all the subdivisions coming to VA right? I’ll pass on anymore yahoos moving here.
