High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I dont know about him playing the lottery cause that would imply he was lucky. There is often luck involved in killing a real Trophy but im not sure how much was involved on these. IMO the most important thing about killing a huge buck is hunting where there are huge bucks and that is the most difficult thing to do(fair chase anyway.) I dont really know STx except from what he posts on here but its obvious hes been around the block. Im sure he uses all his hard earned connections and all his knowledge to put him on the places he hunts. Once hes on the property he puts his hunting experience to work along with, I assume, a high level of effort. After that a little luck helps.

^^^^^^^^^^This is exactly right^^^^^^^^^^^

I couldn't agree more. Though there may be some luck to killing a big deer once in a blue moon much like there is with a casual fisherman catching a bass over 12 pounds, STXRM has put the time in the brush that most hunters might have 10% of.

The mounts are amazing as well. The WT and MD mounts are as good as they get!

Congrats again STXRM!

The Pronghorn looks good but hard to tell in those pics. Theyre hard to score even with a good look. What did it score??

Congrat's ranchman those are tremendous deer!

You were also very fortunate for them not to have been broken up!

He was somewhere in between 69 and 70 gross.

The WT actually had 2 broken/chipped points...the split off the left BT and then the fork off that left G2 both were chipped. The split off the brow is hard to tell how much since it was an older break. He was pushing a doe fawn out of a group of does around when I killed him. He was pretty beat up and scared up and I was shocked he was not broken up more. Lower WT numbers helped him I think. The mule deer had some chipped points also but he was killed about 3 weeks before the rut on Saturday evening of the first weekend. He was with a large herd of does and there was several other bucks of mixed ages in there also....but he was the dominant buck in that herd. The chipped or broken points probably did not add up to much but they give them both a little character.
Thanks everyone.
cheers
