I quit smoking 30 years ago today. I was hypnotized, I don't know if it works because it has only been 30 years. I guess I will have to wait and see if it works.
After I quit I told my wife that I wanted new John Deere tractor and I would not smoke another cigarette until I paid for my tractor from not smoking. When I quit smoking cigs was $16.00 per carton and I smoked 3 packs per day, so it did not take long to pay for my tractor. My tractor is a 50 hp and today it has only 650 hours.

Nice. When you set a goal like that I assume that would help.

Best thing you ever did for yourself.

I also quit almost 30 years ago, 29 and counting.

up It is amazing what kind of hold tobacco can have on your life. I hope to make it 30 years free from dipping. Currently at 3.5 years free.

I quit 25 years ago, I threw them into the drawer by my nightstand and haven't smoked one since. Best health choice I ever made. I still have that pack too. Marlboro reds, box. I remember buying them for .35 a pack or $3.50 a carton when I was stationed in Europe with the 1st AD.

Both of my parents smoked, when you turned 16 you had their permission to smoke. I started smoking when I was 13 and quit on my 16th birthday, that was 48 years ago.

Congratulations to all who have quit. My wife was a light or occasional smoker when we married. Three months later she was with child and quit smoking for the baby and never picked them up again. It will be 30 years for her in October.

What Hancock said. My dad smoked cigars and we pulled the boat with an El Camino so space was limited. He would have to pull over to let me puke from time to time.
