Seen more stinging lizards than wasps at the ranch recently. Ticks is bad as well. And non poisonous snakes have been plentiful.

Reminds me of a story from my childhood. Dad and I were pulling posts in the corrall to replace (these were actually crossties). He was on the tractor using the 3-point hitch to pull them. My job was to wrap the chain and then adjust in down for each new "bite". We get to one and I wrap the chain around it. He gives it the first bump to loosen it up and suddenly we were fully engulfed in ground hornets. I guess they'd built a nest inside the rotted bottom of the post. All Dad could do was look at me and yell "Run boy!". I did but they flew faster than I could run. Each hornet hitting my shirtless back sounded like a .22 going off. Wasn't funny at the time, but years later Dad and l laughed about it over drinks.

Baseball caps don't work. While going to check trot lines Old timer hunting buddy Glen got out to open a gate. After opening the gate I noticed him take off his cap and start swinging away at something. After a swing or two he stood there a bit looking triumphant. Yup, as he put his cap back on it tagged him right on top of the head. His cap went flying and he was ducking like a sniper was after him. Did not know the old guy could move like that!
