Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. One is none and two is one.

I agree with your philosophy and love your outlook Hud

Kinda same here. She has always had a little 22 pistol but never knows where it is or if she has bullets. Well, its loaded now and she knows where it is.

Very sorry you've received threats. Nothing makes my blood boil like a tough-talking internet coward.

Wife has no interest in having or carrying a gun. I’ve thought about getting her one anyway.
Thought about one of those lightweight 38s.

That is considered Civil Assault, I know a guy who is in over $30K in legal expense when him and his wife tried to act tough on the internet via Nextdoor.

Nothing happened, but still perturbed here. People unhappy with their own lives, lacking self accountability and certain the government or system is the reason for their unhappiness now spewing crapola to unsettle others. It worked last night, but long run it will back fire. I fear more innocents will become victims. Bet here is there were some pretty trigger happy individuals locked and loaded in this city. Many would make Pitch sound reasonable.

Wifeypoo, Shotsie and the Autumnal all to take handgun classes. Shooting at cactus pears not enuff.

That's what mine wound up with. Tried the shotgun under the ben, then a Sig .40, and I finally picked up a "Pink Lady" .38 at a Mule Deer Foundation banquet. Simple to understand and it goes "bang" when you pull the trigger.

Now I just have to find a lockbox that'll actually open quick. Dang expensive thing I bought will not recognize a thumb/finger print no matter what. realmad

That SP101 is an excellent choice too. up

bought one for Wifeypoo, a hammerless 38 plus P. Safe & simple to use. Unfortunately and to my surprise, she did not like it and it now is in the hands of Spawn #2. Wifeypoo complained of it being a lil' rough on her. She's pretty strong (don't ask me how I know) and this did caught me off guard. #2 was a sturdy & aggressive college athlete and she will be steady with it.

I'd like her to utilize my 380, but the slide is lil' stiff and that's my carry. Wifeypoo tried and really liked a S&W 22 Mag revolver. Pretty sure that there is going to be the next plan of action.

It took a while for us to find a gun for the wife. She had a Charter Arms 38 snubbie, but couldn’t hit the ground with it. She wanted to get her LTC, so that 38 wasn’t going to work out for any sort of accuracy, though she’s a decent shot with a good gun with good sights. Jeffbird taught the LTC class and shooting, and he loaned her a S&W 22 M&P, and she did good with that. So, we got her a 380 EZ. Too complicated she said, so now she has one of those S&W polymer framed 38 revolvers with the built in laser sight. It is simple.

I wondered, for a long time, why some women just can’t deal with a semi-auto. These days I’m thinking that they, unlike us boys, just aren’t going to take the time to get familiar with the gun, which results in them thinking that it’s too complicated, with all those levers and buttons. Hence, the revolver. She does shoot it pretty well, and I guess that’s what matters. She takes it with her on her long country walks and on long car trips if I’m not along.

I really enjoyed the LTC work with Jeffbird. He had my wife shooting up a storm with that 22 semi, and she was actually having fun. I got a real kick out of her enjoying shooting.

That S&W EZ Slide was perfect for my mom, who has some arthritis in her hands. I had let her try my light weight .38 and she said the recoil was too stiff. My wife said the same thing. I'm thinking the sharper recoil of those lightweight guns is better suited to experienced shooters.

Need a hand loader to help you out with some light target loads. They will take the buck out of that little .38

Similar stuff at our house. The wife has been reading too many next door posts and community Facebook posts and keeps freaking out saying things like "so and so's brother in law has a friend who said, they're looting the mall and channel 13 is covering it" or "they're looting the Walmart down the street." Turn on channel 13 and show her it's just the normal TV programming. Turn on all the other local stations and show her it's all normal programming. Keep repeating to the wife that we are out in the middle of the sub burbs and at the very back of our subburb. No one is going to march/riot all the way to our house without getting shot at by 500 other houses along the way. I then tell the wife to throw her damn phone in the trash and stop looking at the stupid next door neighbor posts. mad mad bang On the positive side, every magazine in the house is loaded for the next time I go to the range.

Thanks,
Rich

I’ll try to hit you in the head with a skillet....you don’t get trolled you get called out. They (myself included) get tired of seeing the same 5 pictures from 1965 and look for and crave new material.

You’re right and thank you for not posting the snorkeling picture, picture of your daughter on a wind board, etc...we’ve all seen them 1,000 times. up

Getting wife a .40 cal shield if it fits her hand. She wants her, our daughter, and soon to be son-in-law to get a carry permit.

A gun that is easy to carry is often unpleasant to shoot. I have S&W airweight and blued steel. The airweight is not fun to shoot.
