The wood is nice but I’m not really a fan of the gold engraving on that one. And for 10k I would need about 30 more pictures.

Look again,The Buy it Now price is $15k. You could buy a couple really nice complete custom rifles with better looking wood for that kind of price.

I had a guy try and sell me a really nice LH weatherby deluxe in .270 wby mag. Was a 1970’s model had never been fired except for factory testing.

We had the deal worked out and he asked me what my plans were for it? He refused to sell it to me after I told him I planned to hunt with it

I can buy some damn nice Colt replica's that are far better pistols than the original Colt, but it will never be a Colt and never have the value of a Colt.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Found one with pretty wood in .257 Weatherby. Brand new Sheridan built rifle. I really kinda want their new 6.5 RPM but the wood on it was "blah"

Buzz, you can still do a somewhat reduced recoil load on that. But, you're talking 308 Win or 30-06 velocities. So why not just look into those 2 calibers?

Buzz,

Weatherby has a custom shop and will build one for you with upgraded wood.

Their custom shop also will install a Krieger barrel for an upcharge.

They will make it as fancy as your credit card can handle.

That’s why they make muzzle brakes

My .300 is very pleasant to shoot with a brake

maybe, I'm sure I'll end up selling it, so dont know if putting a break on it will reduce value

Time is money, if you want something today it will be expensive. Wait and watch classifieds it will eventually show up at a reasonable price.
I watched for about a decade for the Weatherby I wanted but got a 460, mesquite stock, iron sights for $1200. Put a brake on it, beadblast and reblue to eliminate shine. Chased buffalo with it and shot an eland. Life was good.

Some Pics Here

this, I have worked with mesquite wood and is some of the prettiest you can find, and it is hard. was mill east of Bastrop that produced doors, mantels ect, where I got my pcs, 2011 Bastrop fire burned the place down

My Mk V is a Southgate, CA gun. It is very accurate for an out-of-the-box Wby.

I wonder if one of the members can rent you their Weatherby with nice wood for a few months instead.

Hey Buzz, This is a Japan Mark V in 7mag. I have several WB's and my 257 mag is probably my favorite whitetail rifle. Very manageable recoil and devastating ballistics.
Teskey's over in Weatherford usually has quite a few of the new Mark V's and occasionally have some nice used ones. There's also a guy that sells on Guns International, Barry Browning, that usually has some nice Mark V's.

Most shoot ok.

Also a lot of them have 24” barrels, I prefer a 26” in weatherby calibers
