I have a omega 30cal can and have had it for 2 years, I’m getting tired of swapping gun to gun before I go shoot or hunt. I have thought bout using the QD mounts but I have heard soo many bad stories bout the carbon build up freezing up the mount. Just trying to gauge if it’s worth spending the $xx to get 3 more QD mounts. I direct thread everything now and just put thread protectors on the gun I take it off. Just curious to see if the nightmares on these mounts are true

I have one that’s locked up. I’m assuming had I been smart enough to put a little choke grease on it and not heat it up and leave it that I wouldn’t be in this shape. Also, the mount was not installed with rocksett or I might be able to brute force it off.

Live and learn. I think they’re fine just do it all right from the start.

I think that you will find that there isn't a ton of difference in work between using SiCo's QD and direct thread. If spinning it off of one gun and onto another is bugging you that much, then spend the $$ on another can instead of QDs for all of your other guns.

I have the SiCo QD mounts on all my guns, not for the speed in swapping, because it really isn’t that fast, but I like the locking system better than just relying on threads. And if anybody says it’s a flawed system and can cause baffle strikes, trust me when I say it’s 100% user error.

I have had it lock on, nothing heat and liquid wrench couldn’t cure. My lock up was due to swapping a warm suppressor to a cold Gun.

It’s not necessarily the having to swap it out i greatly prefer having it or atleast a muzzle device on my 300 win mags especially when my wife goes shooting so I just wanted one or the other on the guns being shot but have heard too many issues but I have been told it’s usually user error. Putting another can in jail is a possibility but still just wanted to hear the truth on their QD mounts

I have a Saker762. I grew tired of SiCo's dumb "QD" mounts always locking up, so I transitioned to Yankee Hill Machine's QD system and it's light years ahead. Spin on, spin off. I replaced my AR flash suppressors with YHM's flash suppressors and purchased their adaptor that screws directly into the Saker. I now swap the Saker between my 6.8 and two 5.56s, and eventually my .308 bolt action model 700. Do your research, don't take my word for it. But I'm absolutely satisfied that YHM finally made my Saker trouble-free and worth owning.

Yep, I use QD’s on everything and all my are YHM and they’re great.

I have the same can as you. I've never had it lock up. I do break it loose after most weekends for transporting it home. Might not hurt to have some pb blaster or something similar handy.

I have several Silencerco Cans, I currently have the ASR flash hiders or comps on the majority of my rifles. I personally have never had one get locked up after I moved away from the trifecta mount.

I use the asr mount that cane with the can and 2 additonal muzzle devices. My can flew off my rifle the last time I shot it.

The can is the Omega 300 and the rifle is a ruger american 6.5 grendel. There is a real chance I simply didn't tighten it down enough. I am fairly new using suppressors, maybe only about 150 rounds of 308 through this can, but I thought I did it correctly. The range guy told me that he believes installing the suppressor while the barrel was vertical, which I did, has more issues than installing while the rifle is horizontal. That one is a little hard for me to swallow but ok.

Still don't really know. I retrieved the can and tried it again at the end of the shooting session and all seemed well enough.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!
