Pretty girl. I for one would have zero interest in shooting one other than with a camera.

They're not horses. I've shot 3. All in Zimbabwe. Staff (and a few lions) loved the meat. Family likes the hides. What is it with the phrase "zero interest" that pisses me off so much? We're all hunters on here (supposedly).

We are all hunters but we don't all target the same species. For example, I don't hunt zebras, birds, or democrats. Maybe others do. We don't have to all be the same.

Understood. But why do they have to expound on what they're not interested in? This is a photographic thread, for Pete's sake, and the OP is a helluva photographer. I've known guys personally that like to talk about, whenever you can manage to work in what you've done recently, what they have "absolutely no interest in", "zero interest in", etc. They're pompous asses that want the world to dance to their tune. No thanks.

I always wanted a zebra rug, too. This was in Namibia.

The people who say they have no interest in hunting zebra have never seen one in their native range.

I had no interest either until I saw how skittish and smart they are. We chased and chased them until the wife put a bullet in one, made a great shot and then the chase was on. Something about seeing an animal stare at you after taking a bullet thru both lungs, blood comming out his mouth and both nostrils, gives you a lot of respect for it. As stated before they are not horses.

I used to say I had no interest in shooting all kinds of animals that I ended up shooting and thoroughly enjoyed doing it

Great pic. My mountain zebra hunt in Namibia was a real ball-buster, and the filets are off the charts great. I'd shoot another in a heartbeat.

Some of the exotics I’ve shot in Texas were the hardest hunts I’ve ever done. Native range be damned, an aoudad in west Texas is hard to hunt. Axis can be just as difficult depending on the terrain. Lastly, hunting scimitar oryx will plain wear you out once they realize you are after them. For an animal that is almost completely white and 400 lbs you would never believe how tough they are to hunt in thick cover.

Yep, they are actually jacka$$es. They can even breed with a jacka$$ for those that don't believe me...….look it up. LOL

I think they are awesome animals! We have a few that are free range on our place but its very rare to see them. 2 years ago I posted some pics from the stand when 2 of them walked right up on me.

And for what its worth they are in fact in the same genus as both horses and donkeys and can breed with both. So one could make the argument they are in fact a horse.
