marlin 1893 with serial no of B7289 any one know what year, have searched but nothing for certain

around 1912-13, Marlin changed from a 6 digit serial number to a A,B,C,D prefix, starting with the A. The D prefix was probably used around 1916-17. so between 1913 and 1916 would be my guess?
