I guy I have dealt with before made me a deal on a OBR. I haven't ever seen one. In fact, my only experience with LaRue is the MBT-2S triggers and a couple of QD mounts. I asked him to give me a bit to do some research, but also thought some of you might have hands-on with one.

Great gun, depends on which one and what you want to use it for

Thanks for the reply. It is an 18" with the Lothar-Walther barrel. As far as what I'm going to use it for? I really don't know. Mostly considering it because this pandemic has him in a bind and I'm in a position to help him out. I may not even keep it, but he needs to make a quick sale.

The lothar barrel is view favorably imo. Depends on how much you spent. Post pics if you can

Just got home with it. This seems to be a really nice rifle. I won't get out with it until the end of next week, but have high hopes.

I have same gun. LW barrels are extremely accurate. Did you get the test target with it? If so, post pic. Expect sub MOA with match grade ammo.

Great rifles, they usually shoot lights out, however, the company itself can be a bit of pain to deal with sometimes. That being said, you'll probably never need to deal with them.

Oh yes the owner is an absolute tool.

Yeah the owner is really smart with machining but sometimes can be a bit crass. To his credit though after talking to him at dsc it must be annoying with all the people trying to tell him how to run a business.

Thanks for the replies and info. I know nothing of the company, I have a few triggers and optics mounts, maybe even a hat.

There are no special markings on either receiver, and I received nothing but the rifle as pictured.

It is a PIG. with an inexpensive mil ffp optic and ADM mount at 14 pounds. It would be great on the hitch of my dually.

This is on my "to do" list, as I'd really like to take it down and do a deep clean and a couple of upgrades before I even sight it in.

Not sure how soon I'll even want to shoot it, but might just start off with whatever Chad recommends for ammo.

The prs stock is adding some weight. Easy to swap that out if you want a lighter gun. The obr is not a light gun with a heavier contour barrel.

Should I expect 168 or 175 to be a better place to start with?

My 16" 308 gas gun shot the 168gr better than the 178gr.

I had good luck with 168 fgm in my 1:10 18" M&P 10. The OBR has an 18" 1:11.25.
