My last scope purchase I was hunting for a nice 2-7 scope for an antique rifle.
Problem is there are almost no new scopes to fit the bill. Leupold has their rifleman line and most of the Redfields are along that same theme.
All the manufacturers seem to be making the Tacticool scopes with the big turrets and the large magnification.
I really like the old G-4 type Reticle and I couldn't find it anywhere.
I also noticed only Leupold and Burris are the only one making pistol scopes.
I wound up getting a Redfield for my old rifle it seemed to check most of my boxes.

They can be hard to find, but an El Paso made Weaver k2.5 or k4 looks good on only rifles

I have some 1.5x5x32 & 2-7 Weavers. I believe Weaver has been absorbed by Bushnell now so likely out of production. I also have a 6x Meopta and 4X Weaver. Lower mag variables and fixed scopes with duplex are disappearing. In my opinion, a lot of the 1-4, 1-6 & 1-8 AR scopes are pretty great for hunting. A lot come with capped turrets.

Weaver brought back the old school fixed 4x scopes with steel tubes for a short time just a few years ago. They sold for $400-someodd at the time, but you got a nice old school steel tube, very durable, with modern glass.

That is what I would look for... be hard to find i bet.
