ok guys this is just a for fun question. if you could choose any STYLE firearm to hunt with what would it be? revolver, single shot, bolt, lever or semi auto? we are talking typical texas hunting

i would take any not to picky, but if i was hunting in texas, maybe a pistol like a savage striker

I like my bolt action for hunting. Will one day use the AR on hogs, but 250 yards is a little long for the .223 on a hog IMO.

Since you did not list a shotgun, it would be an AR-10 for sure with the right glass or none at all it is effective from 0 to about 600 yards.

If you are including shotguns even though not listed a 12 guage for sure and a semiauto also.

Lever action 30-30 for me. Just a versatile gun. The range is limited so that just means you have to get closer.

My .308 Marlin EXP...lever action. It's dead on, it's good to 200 yards, and if I'm not sneaky enough to get within 200 yards of any given animal I need to go stand in line at HEB to buy my meat.
