I once knew men who could knock a deer down as it jumped across a logging road in a single shot using a rifle much like that one.

Just look through the peep and focus on the front sight. Put the front sight on the target and squeeze the trigger.
DONT pay attention to the peep

I've been reading up on it. What do you think about the six o'clock hold? That would be the top of the sight on the bottom of the target.

I agree with tactical cowboy. If you can avoid focusing on the rear sight at all and just put the front bead where you want the bullet it is extremely fast and accurate. Your brain will automatically center that front bead in the rear sight if you don’t try to take over. It was very successful for me for years until my eyes failed me.

With the factory sight, my first several shots were high. Like 5" at 50 yards. When I moved the top of the bead to the bottom of the target it went where I wanted it. I also had too much of the post in my sight picture. When the only visible part of the front sight was the bead, no part of the post, I did better.

The good news is that sight is infinitely adjustable. You can even set stops, dial, and return to zero. I never tried but it’s set up for it.

I've been reading up on it. What do you think about the six o'clock hold? That would be the top of the sight on the bottom of the target. I guess that depends how far below the impact your aiming point is. I (my opinion only) want the bullet to hit at the very top of the post—that is, if I put the tip of the post in the center of a 50 cent piece, the bullet hits in the center of the 50 cent piece. The 6 o’clock hold works well on targets. I’m not a fan for hunting.

Pay attention to the front sight and your subconscious will automatically center it in the peep. If you are high, adjust the peep down. You can even remove the aperature and use it as a ghost ring.
