Anybody know anything about these old cast iron wood burning stoves with the Derby Oak logo on them. It's sitting in the old barn at our whitetail place. It has the numbers 313 underneath the big door. I love the thing and want to bring it home.

The originals were made in Vancouver BC Canada. 3 models of Derby Oak stoves 315, 313, 311. Large to small. In their time they were considered a very good potbelly type, usually only people with money could afford them. The only step up was their Royal Oak models. Yours is missing the decorative/ ornate pieces. Looks like the back has been repaired, original back piece isn’t corrugated. The top knot has been replaced. Could be a copy of the original that was made by Belleville stove works in Illinois.

About an hour, 4 1/2" angle grinder, knotted cup brush followed by a knotted flat brush and it'll be clean as a whistle.
Less time, let someone sand blast it. Paint it flat black.
Worth saving!

Worth saving! Kind of what I was thinking. I don't know if I'd even burn it, but I'd sure like to have it around.

Update in case anyone is remotely interested......... Seems the Bellville Stove Works plant had most of their foundries burn in 1927. They rebuilt so to speak and made stoves until WWII in 1939. Can't say this one was made prior to the fire, or afterward, nevertheless it appears to be about 100 years old or so, give or take. I had a fellow oilfield trash buddy that was sandblasting some stuff recently and he added my stove to the pile. Painted in a high temp flat black. I love the thing. I'm sure it will bring back many fond memories in the future.

Came out nice. I’d put it back into service if the opportunity presents itself.

Very cool and would be neat to actually use. What is that to our left/right of the door handles, an inset or design?

Stub, those are just little knobs that you use to slightly lift the doors up so they can sit upon the latch that has a small notch in it to keep it closed. Thanks for the nice comments.
