Someone on here recently commented that they'd rigged a cinch on a pole to drag pigs out of a trap. Anybody remember who or have a picture perhaps? My trial-and-error style takes forever to get something figured out, so I thought I'd use the brain trust here. I've got small cable and eye hardware. 'Just thought someone might have ideas on how to grip the legs quick and tight.
I think I successfully avoided the "flea circus" this morning getting 5 little ones out. I've cut the top out so deer can get out and I could lift these out, but if one more substantial gets in there, I'm gonna need a system. I'm done duck-walking in there right next to them.
Ramball's building me a large pen for trapping, but I'll still need something to drag the nasty ones. Thanks!

What about a system like they use to catch dogs. A pole with a rope with loop on the end. Slide pole and rope in pen put loop around the animal (pig) pull tight and drag out. Use a pole saw telescopic pole.

I had the same problem getting pigs out of my traps. I took a wooden rake handle, put a big eye bolt on the end. Attached some coated cable to the pole, ran the cable through the eye bolt and then back again, making a loop. I can reach into the trap with the loop end, put it around a pig foot, pull the loop tight and drag em out. Worked great till got a real big one in the trap, which was a tough drag.
And, I should mention that I shoot the pigs first. Much tougher drag if you don’t. :-)
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Yep, duck walking and/or crawling thru the blood, mud and poop an't much fun.
I have used just a metal rod about 4' to 6' long, 3/8" diameter thick. Bent about an 2" hook on the end and put a point on it. Hook them just above the back leg knee joint and twist the hook in . Works sort of like a hay hook.
I also like 603County"s drag pole idea......
