I had planned on buying one sooner than later. Alot of companies are currently out of stock. What brands would you recommend? Going to grab one if I can find a good one in stock.

PSA normally always has a few in stock. I normally build all my uppers and lowers myself so I get it exactly the way I want the first time, but if you want to buy assembled PSA is good and any of the big guys are good to go as well.

I have an 8.5” Radical Firearms that I’ve been very happy with. I also have 6.8 and 5.56 uppers from PSA I’ve been very happy with.

I'm interested in this, mainly for subs to play with but also supersonic loads. I keep thinking I want a 10-11" barrel though. It will begin life as a pistol but eventually become an SBR. With that in mind, do I want a carbine-length gas system or pistol?

Pistol. Looking at 8 and 9 know its optimized for a 9" barrel. Going to run suppressed the majority of time.

PSA has them in stock. Here is a 8.5 inch complete upper for $279. I have a similar one and the pigs don't complain so neither can I.

Upper

Do you have the same hand guard? I need one that is at least 1.5" I.D.

Why do you need a 1.5" I.D. handguard? If you're talking about the one linked above the handguard is 7" which will behind the muzzle device and suppressor so there will be no suppressor tuck.

I've had both and prefer the suppressor not tucked.

8” barrel with 7” rail. I always run it suppressed for the most part but if I ever needed to not run it suppressed I could throw it in a backpack or something. You don’t have those options with the suppressor tuck.

I like a 1:5 or 1:7 twist with a big OD suppressor. Gas guns are loud and gassy to the shooter, the bigger suppressors help with that.

I've got an AAC pistol barrel. I believe it's 9in . Shoots very well with suppressor. I agree with above though it will smoke you out with all the gas .
