I brought this old mule back to life and have been slowly making improvements and additions. I have it sorted mechanically and have been concentrating on making it more functional and looking a little better. This week, I added a roof/rack/platform. It is 48" x 58" wide and gives more shade and utility than the stock plastic one. I welded 4 2x2 tabs on the roll cage and attached 3/4" form grade plywood painted OD green with porch paint. The metal frame is 1x1 steel angle painted black to match the rest of Mule and has pockets in the corners to use as a blind. I also added a small motorcycle 20w SD/USB/FM head unit and a pair of waterproof speakers removed from a Moomba. Put on a new exact fit seat cover for a finishing touch. I use this around the ranch for a variety of things: To carry ladders and materials around. Stand on it to fill my feeders but need to add a small ladder to make getting up there easier. Drop a leg in each corner and use it as a blind. And it makes a nice shade.

How much do you have in the restroation/improvements total? Looks good! Thanks Buddy, can't see buying a new one so I do the best I can. The Mule is a hand-me-down 2005 that I got from family for free. It started and ran fine after I put in a new battery and decent gas so other than regular maintenance including oil, filters and adjust valves, the motor was good. The running gear needed ujoints in rear to front PTO shaft and both front axle CVs were hurt to the point that one of them had been cut out with a torch! The tires were mismatched, different sizes and bad shape but held air enough to test drive a little and check engine and rest of drivetrain before I sunk any money into it. Here is a pic of it the day it came home. I replaced: Tires with 4 6Ply HD tires off of a mini truck with a 1000 pound per tire rating and put in slime. Front axles, seals and bearings. U-Joints in PTO shaft. Battery, oil and filters, seat cover, one rear fender and added the roof/rack. Total so far, not including labor is 854.08 and tracked on spreadsheet.

very nice.....I also got a 2005 mule and it will not stop running. Front fenders and hood are held together with duck tape. Slowest vehicle in the woods, but it always gets there!.
