I just bought a Leapers for a 223 and shot it yeaterday for the first time. Worked great. It was $59.95 from Cheaper Than Dirt.com Leapers makes a lot of shooting products at cheapers prices. I probably wouldn't place it on a large caliber due to recoil though.

Check out sportsmans guide. Can usually get a good deal on a BSA or other name brand scope. Just do your online research to see what users rate them before you spend the dinero...

New Weaver K4 and K6 can be found lots of places for $119-$130. I don't call that expensive by any means.

The Weaver K6 is an absolute "best buy" in optics IMHO. Performs on a level well beyong its price range.

I have the luxury of having a neighbor that reps for the company, so I get them gratis, but they're really affordable. Have them on my .30-06, 7-mag, and .223 and have been very happy with them...especially the 4x16x56 Power Class.

I had a cheap $28+tax 6-20x50 Barska given to me and decided to just try it out on one of my 300 win mags (b/c the Nikon I had on it had went through heck and had something loose in it)... sadly, I still have the Barska on there, but can't see changing it when it shoots as good as it does.

I agree with Rifleman on the Simmons. I bought a Savage 17HMR that came with a 3 x 9 Simmons 8-point scope as a package deal. I didn't think it would be a very good scope, but it hasn't failed to do its job yet. I was really surprised. I carry this rifle in my welding rig all the time and its always geting bumped around and it holds perfect zero.

I think this scope sells for about $50.00 or $60.00.

Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

If your budget is $100-$150 then I'll repeat what I said earlier, the newer Weaver K6 is the way to go hands down IMHO.

If you just have to have a variable, than look around and you can propably find a Burris FFII 3-9 for just a hair over $150.
