Which is why we just discussed it the other day.

They can add ACW to known usernames. He has not logged in in over a month and longer since last posted. He is no longer a member here. No one was scammed here as far as I could tell and I don't have any more info on him over what is already on those threads. Thanks for the heads up guys and the help in keeping THF as safe as possible.

Does the buyer or seller pay the 3%?

Is there always a choice? Is there a down side to using goods and services? Friends and family is like me sending you $50 just because. It's literally no different than me handing you a $50 bill. Once I give it to you, it's yours to do with whatever you please. Goods and services adds a 3% fee for it's use, but goods and services sides with the buyer. Usually everyone that sells asks the buyer to cover the 3%, but not always. So with goods and service, if your'e a scammer and I buy a pair of sunglasses from you for $50 and you never send the product, I file a dispute with paypal and get my money back. That 3% protects me from being scammed, it's insurance basically. You can't file a dispute with friends and family. So if you are offering to buy something from someone and they say friends and family only, there's a 99% chance they're a scammer. That changes to 100% if you tell them you'll pay with goods and service and cover the 3% fee and they decline. And yes, there's always the option on how you send money. The only time I'd use friends and family with someone on buying a product is if you know them really well and know they wont try and screw you over.

I never ask anyone to use friends and family. I figure the 3% that I get charged is just part of the cost of using PayPal.
