Resale on Valdada optics was not good generally if that is of consideration. I’ve owned 9 -10 over the years with the last being their 3-18x50 right when it came out and I liked that scope and reticle. That may give a timeline on my last experience with them. it’s been a few years. For the $$ I am with the consensus that there are equal or better options in the price brackets Valdada is playing in now. I generally default to NF for all the reasons that has earned them their reputation.

Give us a call and we'd be happy to discuss different options, available deals and what would be best for you. #1 thing, you need to love the reticle or you'll never love the scope #2 is tracking then #3 optics No great scope will have bad optics but there are scopes out there with decent optics that won't track and return to zero. Just sayin'

While glass is important. I see no one mentioning tracking, and tracking is as or more important than another .2% of glass clarity. Does it correct elevation what I told it to and does it return to zero?
With the ATACR, the answer is absolutely. I was having this conversation with a customer, and to illustrate this point, I dialed up the ATACR for 800 yard DOPE made a hit on a an 8" plate. Dialed back to 0 then checked zero at 100 yards, and it was perfect. The rifle hd not been shot in a week, so if something goes wrong, it is not the scope. I did mention tracking in a previous post. Yes,the ATACR tracks good,so does the Recon,Revoc,Sightron,Kahles,March,S&B,TT,ZCO,and many other's. We get it,You are a big fan of Nightforce. Nothing wrong with that, but there are other brands that do the same things just as good. Some guy's like Kreiger barrels, some like Bartlein, some like others. They all shoot about the same! No doubt there are other options. My SS 5-20X has had a hard life, and has never been sent in. I've got a Bushnell ERS, I really like, and it is 4 years old. I've broken Vortex, I've broken Bushnell, and seen many other brands puke on my range. NF is not the only good option, but in my opinion it is the toughest option. The +$2500 scope market is not that large. My point was, if stepping into that pool, why spend money on a maybe?

We have all broken scopes if you use them hard. I've broken my Swarovski PH, and a Sightron SII scope. Both were sent in and repaired for free, and both were 10-15 year old scopes, and had been used on several different rifles. All scopes can & will break sooner or later if they are really used.
I've had the IOR Recon for about 3 years, and it get's used from 100 yards out to a mile. It has performed flawlessly every time. That's not to say that it couldn't break tomorrow, but if it does,I'll send it back and it will get fixed. The main reason that I bought my Recon is I have a friend that has several IOR scopes, and has had them for many years. He has never had an issue with any of them, and he's pretty hard on his equipment.
I like all brands of Good scopes, and I'm not preaching for anyone to buy a certain brand. I just find it funny that some guy's blacklist a brand for having issues years ago, even when they produce very high quality products today.

Have you ever been 20 hours from home, on a hunt in rough country?
If so, does the "maybe it won't break down", and excellent warranty and customer service make a damn when you're there?
If the answer is no, then you might not fully understand.

If the answer is no, then you might not fully understand. We get it,JG. You're in love with Nightforce. A lot of us are OK with choosing other brands that we see worthy of owning. I can afford to buy almost any brand of scope made, and I've owned Nightforce. It's a great product, but it's not the absolute best product.

None are the absolute best but several have proven track records and for myself I'm tough on stuff so reliable performance is a must. Ior may have gotten better but I've seen a couple them fail not sure if they were that exact model though. Only seen one other scope in the same class truely fail and it was a vortex that I personally owned.

Only scope in that class that I’ve had fail was the Revic.

I'm late to the party, but I will throw my 2 cents in. IOR makes great optics. I have owned a couple, and have been pleased with both. They will take care of you with customer service, but you might be waiting a while for it to get to Romania and back. As far as resale goes, I have had a 1-10 LTS2 for sale on this forum and others for months now, and NO ONE is interested. Most folks just don't know what it is. BTW, I have owned the 1-10 for several years now, and while it's just a FFP, I could have opted for a dual plane reticle at the time. Glad to see Vortex is FINALLY catching up, although IN MY OPINION, IOR is better glass.

S&B, NF and Kahles are all awesome scopes in that price range. Of course its by no means an end-all, be-all list, the PRB's list of "What the Pros Use" is always something I find interesting when you talk about things like repeatibility/tracking and durability. If it was me, Id be perfectly content with an ATACR on any precision gun I own. https://precisionrifleblog.com/2018/12/21/best-scope/

Gentlemen I cheaped out again and got another SS 5-20. It’s just a great scope for the money.

Not 100% true. Those guys don't reach the pro level by using something that is malfunction prone.

As I said, its not a perfect reference, your statement is true for some. It's also true that several people I know whose info is included in that graph decided what scope they wanted, then went to a manufacturer or vendor and asked for a sponsorship for that particular optic. I'd guess that it itrue for many people I don't know on that list as well.
