After the China Flu runs it's course what changes do you see taking place?

Not sure if I'm seeing them or just wishing them.

I see China's economy completely tumble, not from the flu but from other countries not wanting to be so dependent on Chinese goods. Will it bring more manufacturing back to the US especially the essentials?

I see a substantial change in our daily travels. My guess is the cruise industry is going to sink and airlines are going to cut back on flights. I see people actually driving more for their vacations which I think is a good thing, it gives us a realistic view of the US. Driving through fly over country for those who've never done it is an eye opener.

And I see some who will do everything within their power to remove all possibilities of such a recovery happening.

I don't know and I doubt anyone actually does. I hope things change for the better but I doubt they will. I just hope this was not started on purpose to see what would actually happen if a extremely bad virus or some other type of sickness was released.

I doubt that we will see much significant change that sticks. People have very short term memories these days.

Temp has nothing to do with it. It's summer time in some other countries already.

Will probably be more hypochondriacs and germaphobes in the world. Myself I don't worry as much about the bare shelves in Walmart as I do the narrow, crowded isles and strangers breathing on me.

I would hope the salaries of professional athletes will be adjusted to become more relative to the importance of what they do. But we all know that's not likely to happen. However, viewership may be fall off greatly after people realized how little they needed to watch a game when other things mattered a lot more.

Viewership falling off will create less revenues which is the ONLY way in which professional athletes will be paid less.

This is how I feel. Americans tend to go from one end of the scale to the other very easily when memory fades. Just look at how we went from "never forget" after 9/11 to putting America hating muslims in positions of leadership from local government all the way to Washington. Before anyone twists off, I'm not comparing actual terrorist attacks to a virus, only the principle. Any changes that we see after this will fade quicker than the post 9/11 changes. The prevailing thought process will be "it's gone now so we can go back to business as usual". To be fair, with this particular issue I think there is a lot of truth to that. Once this virus has run it's course and disappears (hopefully), I think we should be able to mostly get back to normal as long as people follow some basic hygiene procedures. Therein lies the problem - we just have some nasty folks among us.

I lived in an army surplus tent after the big war. Things changed in a hurry.

Not entirely. Same way the flu virus is seasonal.

Some doc on Fox mentioned the virus micro droplets will evaporate and disperse quickly in dry air.
So I take that to be related to relative humidity.
I then thought of vapers. Sometimes thier exhale disperses quickly, sometimes it just hangs thier.
Maybe has merit

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

If these preventative steps aren't taken it would/will be in the tens of millions.

I think all you posts is correct but will be short lived. Cheap products are like crack. The addiction took a strong foot hole around the world and has become a habit that will he had to break on a global scale.

This will pass and as time goes it will be forgotten until the next pandemic or global event. Do t think so??? Look at 9/11 and the swine flu as recent events.
