Cnbc
Wealthy New Yorkers fleeing the city are driving up the prices of rentals in the Hamptons and Hudson Valley, with rates more than tripling for some properties.
As New York imposes strict stay-home guidelines and the number of coronavirus cases skyrockets, New Yorkers who can afford it are decamping to more rural locales. Brokers say they’re getting barraged with calls from families wanting rentals immediately, some for two weeks, some for up to a year.
“This is unprecedented,” said Delyse Berry, of Upstate Down, a Hudson Valley real estate advisory and management firm. “It’s like a panic. I have never placed so many people in rentals in one week, and at these prices, ever. Even in the summer.” —Robert Frank

I’d bet dollars to donuts he’s lying All 4 did lie. And now they said it was done by a third party and that they knew nothing about it, just after the facts. Yeah, right....like 2 seconds after the facts?

Looks like we have several senators who happened to dump millions worth of stock right before the panic.. insider trading would put you in prison. Let's see if the 2 tier justus system lets them walk. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California and three of her Senate colleagues sold off stocks worth millions of dollars in the days before the coronavirus outbreak crashed the market, according to reports. The data is listed on a U.S. Senate website containing financial disclosures from Senate members. Reports identified the three other senators as Richard Burr of North Carolina, Kelly Loeffler of Georgia and James Inhofe of Oklahoma, all Republicans. Burr, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, used more than 30 transactions to dump between $628,000 and $1.72 million on Feb. 13, according to ProPublica. The report said the transactions involved a significant percentage of the senator’s holdings and took place about a week before the impact of the virus outbreak sent stock prices plunging to the point where gains made during President Trump’s term in office were largely erased. Two more are listed in the article. So, they got out and left the public in the dark.. seems like some serious charges and resignations are in order. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/di...-stocks-before-coronavirus-crash-reportsThey probably bought up all the hand sanitizer and toilet paper too

Yeah I saw that news blurb. If they had access to information the general public did not then yeah it would be classified as insider trading and they should be punished. However if they or their broker just had a feeling the market was about to tank because of the virus and got out before it did, well that was just smart. The people raking them over the coals are probably just jealous they weren't smart enough to bail before the market tanked. While I'm never one to defend politicians for possible transgressions, I don't know that I have much issue with this either vs say them being on a Dept of Interior committee and selling stock in oil companies before some governmental action against oil companies takes place. That happens probably more often than we know. Charlie

And during the daily briefing today a fake news gal got roasted by the POTUS because she only inquired about the 2 Republicans and not a word about Feinstein! It was an awesome moment! KAG!

I don't play in wall st's casino, I prefer to gamble where the odds are known. And you don't have a bunch of assclowns running around betting on non-public information (which is by the way, theft). If they stole your TV you would want them hanged, but as long as they only steal your retirement/nestegg etc, **** happens. lol
What a funky bunch..

Just another reason why these people spend millions to get elected to an office that pays a few hundred thousand.
Tucker Carlson did a good job of explaining what happened on his show tonight. Basically, it boils down to members of the Intelligence Committee selling all their stock once they learned behind closed doors the seriousness of the Coronavirus, while at the very same time, telling Americans everything is great and the country is well prepared.

Well articulated. They completely violated the Stock Act and should be fined and jailed. The STOCK Act is an original bill to prohibit members of Congress and employees of Congress from using private information derived from their official positions for personal benefit, and for other purposes. Watch them resign soon.

I made the mistake and haven't watched my portfolio as have folks doing it. I just wish I would have been watching mine (Investments) the last month as mine has dropped a ton and I mean "Ton" and my Paid Charles Schwab Folks was suppose to have me in low risk vehicles. Didn't need or wanted to make money just ride along until I croaked. Don't care and if it has dropped another ton gonna pull it to cash, T bills Monday.

We are in the times when one's strength, morals and integrity will be tested. There will be easy netted fish and cockroaches running for cover.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Yes they knew. They may not executed the sell order. But, you know thag had "casual conversation" with someone connected. They took that as a sell order.
When my wife sent me a link to Macy's ear rings, with a question "Do you like these". I took that as a 'Buy".

If his overall portfolio is still in the green I would also temporarily move to cash(or bonds if he prefers). We don't know how much lower this thing will go. Why hang around to find out? That's why it behooves a person to know EXACTLY what they paid for a stock and periodically check on it. He can always get back in later if he still believes in those names/companies.
