Howdy all,
My favorite ol’ plinker has gone caput. Was going through the all my collection the other day, just making sure everything was working properly and doing a general cleaning after. As I came to the .22 I loaded her up and pulled the slide, sighted the target, pulled the trigger and *click*. Nada, tried several times more and same thing. From what I can tell the pin isn’t punching the rim. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Or could anyone help me figure out what to do to get ol’ faithful firing again? TIA!!!!

Check your barrel lock ring and barrel lock adjusting ring. If your lockup isn't tight enough you may get light strike. If the alignment is off slightly due to wear or adjustment you may get light or no strike.
Hope this helps.

As dirty as .22 lr is, the first thing I would do is totally disassemble, scrub clean, re-oil, reassemble, and test fire.

Cleaned, made sure barrel was tight, and still no dice. Imma take her in to the local smith I think. See what he can do or tell me. I’ll keep y’all posted

My SA22 is currently at Grimes Gunsmith in Ft Worth. While out plinking my locking ring mechanism came loose and I could not get it adjusted to lockup correctly, I jacked with it and a spring and plunger fell out into the grass. My beat up old fingers would not get along with those tiny parts even if I found them and/or ordered new ones so she is in the shop.
The old Belgium made are configured differently than my Japan made rifle. I think mine has 2 sets of spring/plunger in the take down lock up mechanism.
good luck
