Is it just me or do you feel compelled to cook the whole pack of Bacon even if you only need a few pieces

I can’t say I have that feeling every time I open the pack. You have issues!

Bacon is like an egg. You break open the package - you cook it all.

1'st time home from the Middle East after eating nothing but chicken/salad/eggs - I fried a whole 1.5 lb pack of Wrights Peppered Bacon, sat down and ate the whole thing. It happens...

yep, I usually will do 3-4 cookie sheet trays full at a time. remove from oven when not quite done and let cool and put in a large rectangular tupperware container separating the layers with paper towels and into the freezer. Then when needed, put out enough for what size group we have (plus a few extras for the cook ) and reheat in a cast skillet.

If we open a pack the entire thing is cooked.

Considering the mess it makes and usually cooking for one or two, yes. It will be used in many ways very soon.

Yep! That's the only way I have enough hot bacon grease for my killed cabbage salad.

It was served on steam boats years ago. It's got shredded cabbage, of course, and a few veggies and bacon crumbles. You pour the hot bacon grease over the cabbage and it imediately wilts, "killing" it. killed cabbage salad.
Note: Not a heart healhy salad!

Worked with a bunch of lineman from North Carolina in the early 80’s. They were some pork eating fools. Ate bacon sandwiches every day.
