Do you guys feed your Corn and Protein in the same area's. Hear a lot of guys will feed Protein in a totally different area than they do Corn. What are the advantages of this? Thanks in advance.

We feed it away from corn feeders so mr big doesn't get scared. We used to feed in the same place but found the further from the spin feeder the more deer come to it.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Geez, I can't imagine going through even more protein. Corn feeders and protein feeders are in the same pens at our place.

That's quite the compound Hud. I'm sure it has more "ambiance" when all the hunters are around. 'Looks "all business".

That’s the storage area behind camp. After 13 years, these highly structured square heads have built things up.

We all feed in same feeder pen. Been doing it for years with great success. Sometimes the deer come by and grab nothing but corn, sometimes only protein and sometimes both. We also have water troughs in our feed pens as well.
Full service buffet.

Went down to the lease this weekend. It's dry in our part of South Texas. Very dry. The deer I saw were in good shape. Klappenbach and myself share feed. Three weeks ago, he had us completely filled up - 5 feeders totaling 4,200 lbs in capacity (two 1,200 pounders and three 600's). Went down with forty just to stay on top of it. Put it all out and left needing another 14 bags. We have never seen this heavy a consumption rate this early. Three of the seven cottonseed feeders had been decimated. One more was hit halfway and then three (for whatever reason) were virtually untouched. What's worse, Donger had put in 2,200 pounds (two feeders) two weekends ago. One was completely empty and the other had about 100 pounds in it. Another square headed hunter had filled his big 2,000 lb feeder the last weekend in January. Nothing but dust in there.
I went down this weekend because past history indicates right now is when we start having our highest rate of consumption. If it gets more than the past three weeks, we are going to be in trouble.
